NinjaZone Brings Exciting Fitness and Character-Building to Kids at YMCA Warminster
WARMINSTER - River Crossing YMCA has launched NinjaZone at its Warminster branch. NinjaZone is a youth fitness program that teaches whole body movement and mind-body connection through a fusion of obstacle course training, gymnastics, parkour and character-building.
The YMCA in Warminster is celebrating eight years of serving the community with the launch of NinjaZone programming and a membership promotion of only $8 for November. Dubbed “A Place to Belong, A Space to Be You,” members of the community are encouraged to visit the branch to learn more about NinjaZone, Metro Esports gaming, new group exercise classes, swim lessons, lap swim and Fun Family Fridays, which are free to families with membership to the Y. More information can also be explored on the Warminster YMCA webpage.
“We are super excited to introduce NinjaZone to our Warminster families,” explained Danielle Cioffi, senior vice president of operations for the Central Bucks region of River Crossing YMCA. “Investing in the health and wellness of our community means providing fun, structured and challenging opportunities for our youngest members to connect with their own fitness.”
On the NinjaZone website, founder Casey Wright shares the vision of NinjaZone as a youth fitness, agility and character-building program. “We want to have a character component and an athletic component because we’re dealing with kids and we want to support what parents want, and that’s to raise good humans.” Wright notes that NinjaZone helps kids build grit and confidence, all while learning how to protect their own bodies from injury like gymnasts do.
The Y in Warminster offers Baby Ninja classes for children aged one through three years old, providing gross motor skill development and activities. Lil Ninja, for three to five year olds, is the introduction to NinjaZone’s gymnastics, martial arts and obstacle course training. School Age Ninja, for five to 10 year olds, is a progressive level system that allows children to advance through the NinjaZone program at their own pace. Each stage of development brings new challenges and expectations for the mind and body as they progress.
Membership is not required to register for NinjaZone classes. However, YMCA members receive a discount on classes and children ages three and up may use the NinjaZone obstacle course for free during specific hours while their parents work out.
“We’ve always prided ourselves on being able to offer something for everyone at River Crossing YMCA,” Cioffi continued. “More opportunities to engage children and youth in Warminster allow parents more times during the week to participate in their own wellness at the Y. Families can sign their kids up for swim lessons, NinjaZone classes and esports gaming during times when we offer adults group exercise and other wellness opportunities.”
On Friday, December 6, the community is invited to visit the Y in Warminster for “Holiday at the Y,” 5:30 PM-7:30 PM. Holiday at the Y is a free open house event for families featuring games, refreshments, family swim and a NinjaZone obstacle course.
