Keep the Beat is designed for anyone who has graduated from cardiac or cardiopulmonary rehabilitation within the past six months and would like to continue to improve their heart and lung health through a regular exercise program with support from a fitness professional.
In order to join the program you must have graduated cardiopulmonary rehab and have a referral from your cardiologist.
By participating in Keep the Beat, you will work with a certified fitness professional who is trained to work with post-cardiac rehab patients to continue to build on your cardiorespiratory training performed in rehab while designing a well-rounded exercise program inclusive of strength training, balance, and mobility that is safe and progressive.
The continuation of a regular exercise program beyond cardiac rehab can significantly decrease the likelihood of experiencing a future cardiac event, lower blood pressure, and improve the overall quality of life through the adoption of lifelong healthy habits.
