PRESS RELEASEThrough December 20, 2023, YMCA of Bucks County and Hunterdon Counties is opening their doors and inviting the community to use the Y for free. With branches in Doylestown, Fairless Hills, Newtown, Quakertown and Warminster in Pennsylvania, as well as Flemington in New Jersey, the YMCA is in a unique position to impact community health and wellness.

YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties hosted gatherings in its branches to honor military Veterans during the organization’s observance of Veterans Day on Friday, November 10. Local Veterans turned out to Doylestown, Fairless Hills, Quakertown and Warminster branches in Bucks County, as well as the Deer Path branch in Flemington, NJ to enjoy a brief ceremony, coffee and refreshments.

“It was getting my body moving that brought me back to life, and that’s what the Veterans program did. It was the catalyst that brought me back to life.”

“The Healthy Lifestyles program at the YMCA literally changed my life,” Monahan said. “At the end of the 16-week program I lost 12 pounds, reduced my A1C from pre-diabetic to healthy, and was able to discontinue my cholesterol medicine. The program was informative and easy to follow, broken down weekly into different pertinent topics.
