Congratulations to Allentown’s First Graduates of the YMCA Veterans Wellness Pathway Program

In 2024, River Crossing YMCA began to offer Pathway programs to branches in the Lehigh Valley region for the first time. The Veterans Wellness Pathway program, which provides mind and body health and social connection to military veterans, was introduced to the Allentown community this past fall. Upon completion of the 12-week in-person and virtual sessions, 10 Veterans Wellness participants graduated with new physical exercise, nutrition and mindfulness habits. The YMCA Veterans Wellness Pathway program is now offered throughout the year in Bucks, Lehigh and Hunterdon County YMCA branches, providing our community’s military veterans valuable skills, strong friendships and a local network of resources for continued wellness.
“The Veterans Wellness Pathway program is exactly what it proclaims to be in its name. It is a pathway to kickstart and energize veterans to get back into a fitness routine alongside others who are accustomed to working out in community as all veterans know all too well. In community we are able to achieve and succeed because the coaches and staff at the Y are amazing. The workouts challenge you but don’t overwhelm as everyone is encouraged to do what they can. Coaches are mindful to suggest alternatives to the workouts as needed to each individual and the facilities are conducive to getting the most out of your workout. I wish I would have connected with the Y a long time ago.” --Anthony, recent graduate of the YMCA Veterans Wellness Pathway program in Allentown, PA.
